The Heroes are about combining fun, competitiveness & community spirit.

We began as The Hackers and Healers in the very first Greenwich Village Games back in 1988, proudly rooted in the IT and caring professions. In 2008, we evolved into The Heroes—a name that captures the heart of who we are: people who show up for each other, lift each other up, and always play with purpose.

Over the years, our colours have changed—switching from grey to our signature purple in 2012—but our values remain the same. We play to win, but more importantly, we play to connect, support, and include everyone in the fun. As one of the original and largest teams in the Games, it’s important to us that everyone gets involved—on the field, behind the scenes, or simply cheering from the sidelines. Every role matters.
